2010 Review: In 2010 the Bengals were looking to repeat the season of 2009 where they finished 10-6 and swept the AFC North division and made the playoffs as division champs, but 2010 was a totally different story for the Bengals. With injuries and lack of production from key parts the Bengals found themselves in a ‘first to worst’ situation where they had only 4 wins. The Bengals believed that they had the right pieces in place to build on but with losses in many close games and mounting frustration the Bengals returned to the days of the ‘Bungals’. At the end of the season there was talk of Carson Palmer requesting a trade and as the days progress he demanded to be traded but the Bengals denied, so Palmer could possibly retire before the 2011 season. What the Bengals need to figure out before 2011 will Palmer make good on his threats to retire and what pieces need to be added to make a return to the playoffs?
2011 Preview: A bundle of questions face Cincy as we enter the 2011 season, first with Carson Palmer making good on his threat to retire can draft pick Andy Dalton step in and flow with the offense with limited training camp looks? To me Dalton seemed as though he was ready to step into a starting role in the NFL but can he with limited time be ready for NFL defenses, hardly. Will trading Ochocinco benefit or hurt the Bengals? I believe that Chad is the ultimate performer he entertains on and off the field but I thought that drafting A.J. Green would give them that true duel threat so who will opposite Green now? Cincinnati is hoping that Cedric Benson can return to old form but they understand that the hill is definitely one that will be quite a climb for them especially in their own division.
2011 Prediction: 6-10 (3rd place in AFC North)
