2011 NFL Preview > Miami Dolphins Preview2011 Miami Dolphins Football Preview
Head Coach: Tony Sparano 2010 Record: 7-9 (3rd in AFC East) Did not qualify for Playoffs 2011 Free Agents ,Re-signings or Draft Choices: RB- Reggie Bush; QB- Matt Moore; LB- Kevin Burnett; OL- Mike Pouncey (draft); OT- Marc Colombo; LB- Jason Taylor
2010 Review: It was really a repeat scenario for the Dolphins as they finished 2009 with the same record of 7-9. The ‘fins were a predominantly run first, pass second offense. With the acquisition of Brandon Marshall and the emergence of Davone Bess it was an interesting time in Miami. The quarterback situation was up in the air for most of the season, the core group was there with Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown running the ball but it was having the consistency at the quarterback position that would have made the difference. The real keys for Miami in the 2011 season will be finding the right signal caller, if he is already on the team or if they need to look elsewhere also to really decide if the Wildcat has ran its course and if it is time to find a new face for the backfield.
2011 Preview: The Dolphins are finding themselves in the same position as the past two seasons, a couple of big moves in free agency but did they really do anything to improve? I believe bringing in Kevin Burnett to go with Karlos Dansby and Cameron Wake on the defensive side of the ball will be very beneficial, especially facing the Jets and Patriots a couple of times this season. Bringing Reggie Bush to be the starting running back may not be what Miami was hoping for as the season goes on, question is can Bush handle the full time load as the starting back. Unfortunately for the Dolphins they are in a conference with two of the most active teams in the free agent and trade markets, it could mean another season missing the playoffs.
2011 Prediction: 8-8 (3rd place in AFC East)
