2010 Review: To talk the talk is one thing but to back it up is definitely another and for Rex Ryan and the Jets they did a lot of backing it up. The Jets seemed to not only talk you down but they also tried to beat you down with a solid defense. The defense is the staple of what makes the Jets click, with all-world corner Darrelle Revis taking on the best receiver that other teams put on the field and the defensive line stuff the run the Jets defense was most impressive. The real struggles many times came on the offensive side of the ball; it seems that Mark Sanchez had a difficult time using all the weapons he had at his disposal. With the running of Tomlinson and Greene, the receiving of Edwards and Holmes the Jets were poised to get to the Super Bowl, but as we know it only takes one bad game to send you home in the playoffs. The keys for the Jets in 2011 get stronger on the defensive line and sure up the offense with more weapons at Sanchez disposal.
2011 Preview: Let the talk begin, as one of the most active teams in the free agent and trade markets in the offseason, the Jets got better on offense. With the signing of Burress at wide receiver it really gives them a legitimate red zone threat if he can return to form as when he was with the Giants. The team re-signed key parts to the defense and is looking to make another run to the Super Bowl. Whether you like Rex Ryan or you hate him fact is they have assembled a solid team that is in a position to make a serious run not just to the playoffs but to be a real Super Bowl contender. My big question is can they truly win with Sanchez at the quarterback position? I dare say if they don’t get there this season it may be the end of the Sanchez era in New York, only time will tell.
2011 Prediction: 11-5 (2nd place in AFC East)
